This course ’Practical FFP assessment of pressure plant defects using API 579’ is designed as a modular course that is tailored to the specific needs of offshore and onshore engineers working in the field of integrity assessment The course is based on manual calculation examples of the most straightforward API 579 modules. These are based on non-elevated temperature applications and exclude complex crack analysis. The course is specifically targeted at developing an understanding of the underlying principles rather than specific skills in using proprietary software. It is suitable for engineers with an interest in assessing corroded vessels/pipes, code and out-of-code assessments but without a detailed knowledge of stress analysis. You will need a reasonable (Secondary School) understanding of Maths. There is an end-of course test comprising multiple choice and descriptive questions (this does not include detailed calculations) with a pass mark of 70%.

Course fee £1,595+VAT
